Digital book provider Mobcast, which powers services offered by book retailers and mobile phone networks, was last week named “Best Mobile Company” at the annual ME Awards, one of the UK’s prestigious mobile entertainment industry events.
The company provides ‘white label’ services, including iPad apps and sales solutions for retailers, handset manufacturers and mobile networks, which can be re-branded in the partner’s name.
Collecting the award, Mobcast CEO Tony Lynch said it was “an honour to have been selected as the best in business.”
Lynch said his firm had “strived to offer partners a complete digital book platform, enabling books to be a significant part of their content strategy & in turn, offering customers the best reading experience whether they have an iPad or smartphone or eReader.”
Tim Green, executive editor of Mobile Entertainment, said: “Mobcast Services were one of the earliest pioneers of the mobile book market, and is now reaping the rewards for all that effort. I’m really delighted that it scooped the first ever ME award in the exciting m-book space.”
