Blinkbox signs James Bond in new MGM deal

Tesco’s Blinkbox TV and movie streaming service has acquired the rights to the entire James Bond series, including Skyfall which gets its home entertainment release next week.

The films are included in a 100 title deal with studio MGM which also includes the Rocky and Robocop franchises and classics such as The Great Escape.

Michael Comish, CEO Tesco Digital Entertainment, said: “007 has a special place in our hearts at Blinkbox – he loves a gadget and he has moved with the times.”

“We are delighted to share the legendary James Bond franchise with Tesco’s blinkbox viewers across multiple platforms for James Bond’s 50th Anniversary,” added Chris Ottinger, president, international television distribution & acquisitions, MGM.
