The day of transmission for the first epsiode of the show has finally arrived.
The show has been supported by a huge
advertising campaign including a blitz of radio and TV trailers, a Radio Times
special, billboard posters, a new series website and adverts on the BBCs
website – which have been stepped up today with the show appearing on the
homepages for BBC.co.uk, BBC One and BBC Three.
Interviews with the cast have been carried
on every channel on high profile and popular shows.
Overwhelmingly positive reviews of the
first episode Rose have featured in much of the mainstream press.
Everything which could be done to promote
the show has been done. At this stage audiences will have made up their minds
whether they watch Doctor Who or Ant & Dec on ITV.
The production and publicity teams have
done their jobs and done the well. Now its up to the public to choose between
an exciting multi-million pound series of adventures or a cheap derivative show
on the other side.
Those who choose the Geordie duo give up
their right to ever again complain that theres never anything different on TV.
