More than 50,000 customers have signed up to its fledging 4G mobile network since it launched six week ago according to the firm’s latest market update.
Today’s figures also reveal that BT’s consumer division added 266,000 Infinity fibre broadband customers and 52,000 new TV customers in the quarter ending March 31st.
BT’s total Infinity customer base now stands at more than 3m while the extra TV sign-ups takes its overall subscriber numbers to 1.14m.
The mobile and TV sign-ups potentially vindicate BT’s belief that customers are interested in buying ‘quad play’ packages of broadband, home phone, TV and mobile from a single provider.
Such bundles allow service providers to increase the amount of money they make from each customer while offering customers savings when compared to taking each service from a separate provider.
Managers expect further growth in both TV and Infinity customers when their BT Sport channels become the exclusive home of the UEFA Champions and Europa leagues this summer.
