At last. Anytime+ has been around for a while now but for those of us happy with our broadband supplier and not wanting to switch to Sky broadband this has been a frustrating wait.

Interesting! Soldier Soldier for a new generation!!

Understandable the main characters will be 'frontline' but really hope others will be shown so that the whole picture of life with the forces gets shown, especially the negativity that can be shown from other wives because your husband isn't away or isn't doing a 'frontline'/newsworthy job!!

"I can’t help feel that this article is one sided,"

I suppose being accused of unfair negativity makes a change from being labelled an Apple Fanboi, which is what normally happens!

@Martin Hoscik
"FYI in the UK the box only gained the ability to play TV shows purchased from iTunes last week which is also when iTunes match launched."

In other words although you knew the box had gained the ability to play TV shows purchased from iTunes, you neglected to include it in your article?

I can't help feel that this article is one sided, mostly because you fail to include the great features on Apple TV. In my opinion you over-exaggerate the simple tweaks needed to turn the set top box into an actual TV.

Actually, it's not clear that it's illegal if you give permission for your video viewing records to be released. There's a lack of clarity around how permission can be granted, which is what the law change is all about. When Facebook first introduced this, Hulu immediately made it available to US users, but Netflix chose to wait for the law change. Hulu has since decided to wait as well.

I have been with Virgin for about 3 years now and have their 30Mb service. I am an IT Technician by trade and since moving to Virgin I cannot recommend them highly enough. I have never been capped or warned about data download volumes and have in the 3 years only had about half a dozen problems. Compared to BT who I paid more to for just the broadband service compared to the whole service from Virgin, Virgin are millions of times better, better support, better speed, better reliability and better value for money. BT are the bane of my day to day life supporting systems, I just wish that everyone was able to get Virgin on Fibre.....

Nothing in life is free and I suspect Virgin Media are going to prove this when then get their act together over this boost upgrade.

I had a email 24Hrs ago telling me I would be getting a free upgrade to 100mb this summer. Within 12hrs of that announcement another email from Virgin media, whoops we are sorry we shouldn't have told you that blah blah blah.

Another announcement will follow in two weeks time.

Still the good news is at least I know when the service will available where I live.

We shall see.
