Cybook OPUS eBook reader gets a makeover

April 28, 2010 - Martin Hoscik@martinhoscik

The Cybook OPUS now comes in seven 'trendy colours
eBook maker Bookeen has announced a new look for their Cybook OPUS reader – seven “trendy” new colours and addition features including enhanced battery life.

The OPUS’s refreshed look follows consultation with users across the world and will be available from May 7th with am RRP of £149.

Bookeen say the reader now boasts “instant-reading technology” which reduces start-up times and offers “the very latest E-Ink electronic ink technology” as well as new reader software named ‘Boo’.

Battery life is claimed to offer 8,500 page views – roughly 15 days – on a single charge and Mac users will be pleased to know the OPUS syncs with Mac OS as well as Windows-based machines.

Supported formats includes the widely used ePub format which ensures the reader can be used with titles bought from the majority of eBook stores and the OPUS can store up to 1000 titles in the on-board memory with up to 8,000 additional titles on an optional microSD card.
