The pre-transmission publicity for The Christmas Invasion continued today with David Tennant appearing on this afternoon’s edition of BBC Radio One’s Colin and Edith.
Answering questions from viewers he said it was “odd” to find himself filming alongside icons of the past including the Cybermen and K9.
Commenting on his use of an English accent David confirmed there had originally been a reference in the script to The Doctor picking up Rose’s accent but that it has since been “cut from the special”.
Discussing the length of time he’s been described as The Doctor without having had an episode aired David commented that it would be good to “finally start”.
Of interest to trivia buffs will be the discussion of post-Christmas filming dates, work on the current series apparently resumes on 3rd January through till April with filming for the third series then starting in July.
A very relaxed David also appeared on this evening’s ‘Friday Night With Jonathan Ross’ where he was questioned on much the same ground and stated that Billie Piper was “sticking around”.
