The new series of Doctor Who was featured
on BBC2s The Daily Politics in a segment involving BBC Political Editor
Andrew Marr (who appears briefly in the series), Conservative MP and fan Tim
Collins & former Who Producer Barry Letts.
The segment looked at how politics has
shaped Doctor Who stories over the years including The Sunmakers, The Green
Death and The Happiness Patrol.
Barry Letts discussed how he shaped stories
such as The Green Death to appeal to the large adult section of the audience
while Andrew Marr remarked on how modern shows such as Casualty also convey
political issues to audiences who may not usually watch political based shows.
