Last night’s second episode of Doctor Who’s new series easily won the night’s ratings battle despite warmer weather and the Bank Holiday weekend leading to lower audiences across all channels.
The Shakespeare Code was seem by 6.8 million viewers, a 35.8% share of the available audience. ITV’s TV Burp which aired opposite the episode was seen by just 3.9 million.
Across the night the BBC consistently outperformed ITV with the corporation’s shows taking the top five spots for the night.
ITV’s top rated show was Vernon Kay’s Gameshow Marathon with 4.1 million and a 21.1% audience share.
