Drop Dead Gorgeous Returns for Second Run

Modeling comedy drama Drop Dead Gorgeous returns to BBC Three with a second series catching up on the Webb’s as Ashley rapidly ascends in the glamorous, sophisticated world of modelling.

The future of the family is in jeopardy it’s falling apart as a direct result of Ashley’s rise to stardom, helped along the way with hefty shoves from pushy mum turned monster agent Pauline (Kathryn Hunt) and Ashley’s acid-queen agent Murray (Lee Boardman).

Twin sister Jade (Linzey Cocker) is still suffering an attack of jealousy and long-suffering husband and dad Terry (Connor McIntyre) the supposed head of the family is floundering, desperately trying to stop their old, happy life unravelling any further.

“The Webb family find themselves on the way up. New house, new clothes, Paris, Milan you name it. Our great joy this series was costume, and how much fun we had dressing our cast.” comments producer Juliet Charlesworth.

The first episode sees Ashley’s status go international with a major casting for a huge designer label. Pushy-mum Pauline is still firmly in tow but the Bluetooth head set, blackberry and swish leather briefcase can’t hide the fact that the pressure is still on at home.

Sinead Moynihan, who plays Ashley Webb, is full of praise for the standard of writing: “The scripts are so well written. There are so many stories going on which is what keeps it so fast-paced. It’s not just concentrating on one personal story, there are so many narrative strands going on all the way through.”

The six-part series is produced by Hat Trick Productions.
