Film lovers who fancy enjoying a season of movies and movie-related activities somewhere a little more exotic than London should read on!
The 2009 Branchage Jersey International Film Festival will run between 1st-4th October and will include live music, soundtrack events, an art installation, visuals and performance as well as film screenings.
Festival director Xanthe Hamilton said: “Rolling off the success of the first year Branchage is back in 2009 with even more gusto. This year we have really honed our programming style, and with even more unusual venues we will be taking films into fitting and interesting spaces, offering our audiences a whole new cinema experience.”
Highlights of the 2009 festival will include screenings of Encounters At The End Of The World, Yes Men Fix The World, Moon, the premiere of three short £D films currently in production in Jersey plus a 48 hour film challenge.
And if all that wasn’t enough the Shooting People Filmmaking Campus will give festival goers the chance to learn how to become a filmmaker.
The festival will be using a host of local venues across the island including the Durrell Animal Sanctuary, the island’s Town Hall and Magistrates Court and even the historic War Tunnels.
