These Android phones aren't getting any prettier

A lot of people have been excitedly touting the new HTC Hero as an iPhone killer but I'm not convinced. It has an obvious advantage over the iPhone in that it's going to be available in the UK from both Orange and T-Mobile, but although it's not quite as ugly as the G1, it retains that dreadful 'chin' from the earlier model and still looks functional rather than stylish. As the video from makers HTC shows, the … [Read more...]

That underwhelming Android update

Admittedly I’m a bit behind with his post, but am I the only person who found the long awaited ‘cupcake’ update for Google’s Android OS pretty under whelming? It certainly delivered everything which was expected (mostly basic features which should have always been present in a smartphone) but the result, at least in my view, is still a pretty unimpressive OS which looks far too ugly and lacks any ‘must … [Read more...]

The news comes as the company … [Read more...]

Mercifully my own issues are at an end thanks to Spanning Sync, a fantastic … [Read more...]

Google to clean up Android Market

Powered by Google's Android operating system, the T-Mobile G1 has been winning plaudits from users and reviewers alike. However some users have been unhappy at the nature of content to be found lurking in the comments section of the Android Market, a repository of applications users can download to their phones. Despite the mobile operator enforcing an opt-out content lock on content viewable from their handsets … [Read more...]

Hands on: T-Mobile G1

Just after I commented on the T-Mobile G1/G2 speculation I realised one of my contracts was within the renewal window so decided I'd take a leap of faith and see what all the fuss over the G1 was about. I'm a big admirer of T-Mobile's business team and as always they got the handset out to me the following morning. After a couple of days playing with it I'm pleased to say I'm impressed with the general look and feel … [Read more...]
