Japanese electronics giant Sony has become the latest company hoping to eat into Apple's dominance of the tablet market. Research carried out by YouGov suggests sales of tablets such as the iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab are starting to bite into sales of PCs and laptops, with one in twelve tablet owners saying they purchased their device instead of, or to replace a desktop or laptop. Delivery dates for back-ordered iPad 2's are being updated with customers now being advised of earlier than originally planned arrival dates for Apple's updated tablet.
