On TV: Whitechapel and Skins 3

Something rare happened last night, ITV served up a decent drama which showed a bit of imagination and didn’t rely on the casting of an ex-soap actor. Yes, Whitechapel was everything ITV drama rarely is – well plotted, well acted and atmospherically directed.

As we reported just before Christmas, E4 has announced the line up for the third series of hit series Skins which hits screens later this month. Overshadowed by big brother Tony in the first two series, Effy (Kaya Scodelario) is now queen bee and is joined by best friend and fellow returnee Pandora (Lisa Backwell).

E4 has announced the cast of Skins series three, the hit drama which follows a group of students from Bristol. Following the departure of most regular characters at the end of the second series the new generation is headed by Tony’s younger sister Effy (Kaya Scodelario).

BBC One explores the unusual relationship between two teenage brothers in a new 90 minute drama airing next Sunday, 2nd September.
