iPad accessories – 3rd parties cash in on the latest craze

You may not be able to own an iPad yet (pre-orders for UK customers open tomorrow) but there’s already a growing number of 3rd party accessories available for Apple’s newest gadget.

Anyone wanting to protect their new gadget when it arrives can choose from a range of different case types including ultra-stylish leather options, gel cases and this slightly less exciting, but less expensive silicone option.

Meanwhile Sony are offering a Bluetooth wireless transmitter which allows you to play music stored on the iPad on any compatible Bluetooth sound system. Useful if you want to make your iPad the centre of your home entertainment.

Though I’ve never found them useful for my iPhone, a number of friends use screen protecting films and which can be picked up from Amazon.co.uk for a couple of quid. May be worth considering depending how you plan to store and cart yours around.

Falling into the “what’s the point” category are several different brants of capacitive styli which allow you to use a giant ‘pen’ with your state of the art device like some decade old PDA.
