eBook retailer Kobo has updated its app for Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod, adding automatic updates to the built-in dictionary and, on the iPad only, a “social dimension” with Facebook integration and ‘Reading Life’.
The new ‘Reading Life’ feature includes awards to be unlocked as well as stats showing how long it’s taken to read each book and how much of their library readers have completed.
Last week the retailer updated its app for devices running Google’s Android operating system, introducing features to bring it into line with the iOS version.
“People who are making the switch to eReading and building their lifetime libraries want an innovative social experience to go with it,” said Mike Serbinis, Kobo CEO. “eReading is going social, local and real-time with Kobo Reading Life, allowing us to create a fun, engaging and meaningful experience for our users.”
The updated app is available from iTunes
