After much speculation and some rather public toing and froing, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is finally coming to the UK.
Just in case you didn’t already know, the Galaxy Tab is a new tablet device running the Honeycomb version of Google’s Android operating system which has been designed specifically to take advantage of the larger screens found on tablets.
As with most Android devices, your Google Mail account is the key to the Android Marketplace where you’ll find a wealth of apps, including digital reading apps from ebook retailers Kobo and Amazon plus digital magazine sellers Zinio.
Unlike dull grey screen devices, colour tablets are the ideal way to read magazines and illustrated books and the colour-rich screen on the Galaxy Tab is no exception. Plus, the move towards enhanced ebooks, complete with video and audio content, means the list of content colourless single-purpose ereaders can’t read is growing all the time.
Tablets also allow you to play a game, watch a video or catch up on your email once you’ve finished reading without the need to carry multiple devices around.
These days no product launch is complete without unboxing videos and video reviews and Samsung have been busy creating a YouTube page to collate the reactions to the tab in a single place.
In the video below Cat Deeley reveals how the built-in cameras help her stay in touch with friends and family while she’s travelling and promises to post some videos from her very own Galaxy Tab!
Seriously, what could be better than to have your own reviews and unboxing videos sitting alongside Cat’s on the official Samsung World of Tab channel?
