UK news aggregator, NewsNow, has launched a new mobile service which makes it possible for users to keep up-to-date with the latest news from mobile phones and other internet-capable devices.
Struan Bartlett, chairman of NewsNow Publishing Limited, says the service, which launched last month, “could really be a new ‘killer app’ for mobile phones”.
The company has also announced its integration into the Opera Mini mobile Web browser. The deal sees Opera pre-install NewsNow as an opening-screen bookmark on the latest British release of the Opera Mini mobile Web browser.
Bartlett commented: “Sadly, the Web browsers that come built in to mobile devices are too often slow and cumbersome and rarely cut the mustard. In our testing, however, Opera Mini — thanks to its unique compression technology — provided the fastest and best experience of NewsNow currently available on a mobile phone.
Nuno Sitima, VP of Consumer Marketing and Business Development, Opera Software, said: “Opera Mini aims to bring the best Internet experience. By including NewsNow.net in our award-winning browser, we are bringing more speedier and quicker access to content on the go.”
