Contrary to reports elsewhere on the web there are no plans to change Doctor Whos slot in the BBC One schedules.
A number of sites have reported that the show will be moved to accommodate a new National Lottery show however this is not the case as the lottery show will be aired following Doctor Whos Saturday airing.
Meanwhile some newsgroups and sites are speculating Saturdays Royal Wedding, which moved from Friday following the death of Pope John Paul II, may force the show to the aired in a different slot.
According to the BBC information desk, press releases and trailers this is not true and the currently published Saturday schedule is as follows:
12.00 15.30: The Royal Wedding
15.30 16.30: Grand National Grandstand
16.30 17.05: Final Score
17.05 17.25: BBC News, weather & regional news
17.25 17.55: Just for Laughs
17.55 19.00: Strictly Dance Fever
19.00 19.45: Doctor Who
Details of the Royal Wedding coverage were published on Tuesday this week at which point the required changes were made with the removal of Football Focus (originally airing at 12.10 – 13.00) from the schedule and the shortening of BBC One’s Grand National coverage from 3 and a half hours
to one and moving coverage of the first two races from Aintree to BBC Two.
As the Royal Wedding will run to a strict schedule it is unlikely further schedule changes will need to be made.
