BBC Radio 4 Extra is to air two shows no self-respecting fan of BBC One’s Sherlock will want to miss.
Arthur And George (3rd September 2.30) is a 10-part reading of Julian Barnes’ Booker shortlisted novel, which tells how Sherlock Holmes creator Sir Arthur Conan Doyle became the champion of a young solicitor who was the victim of an appalling miscarriage of justice.
On Sunday 9th September (10.00-11.00am) the digital channel will also broadcast Desert Island Discs Longplay: Mark Gatiss, an extended edition of the Sherlock co-creator and actor’s Desert Island Discs which was first broadcast in October 2011 on Radio 4.
Gatiss will be appearing alongside Martin Shaw in Inspector George Gently: The Lost Child on Sunday 9 September (BBC One and BBC One HD 8.30-10.00pm).
BBC Radio 4 Extra is available via DAB and on selected digital TV platforms.
