Setanta and Virgin Media yesterday confirmed the forthcoming launch of their jointly owned Setanta Sports News channel and promised to cover all relevant sports stories from the UK and abroad regardless of whether the event is broadcasting on a Setanta channel.
Setanta Sports News will be available free-to-air on the Virgin Media platform, and also on satellite, from November 29th.
Setanta Sports News will provide viewers with all the sports headlines that matter every 20 minutes, delivered by a pool of presenters and multi-skilled reporters in the field.
The faces of the channel will all be bright, new personalities, as part of Setanta Sports News’ quest to unearth new talent who want to stamp their mark on sports broadcasting. The on-air team will be focused on generating debate and engaging with sports fans across the nation.
Geoff Hill, Editor-in-Chief, Setanta Sports News, said: “We want Setanta Sports News to be fun and engaging for the nation’s sports fans. Viewers will get the sports news that matters delivered in a thorough, concise and accurate way, but this channel will be much more than a rolling sports news service we want the added value of passionate input from fans. We aim to be alongside them at every major sporting event across the UK.”
