The latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system iOS is now available to iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, third-generation iPad, and iPad 2 users.
As always with any new OS there’s plenty of changes and new features to check out but one thing is instantly noticeable – Siri has got a lot more useful.
Outside of the US, Apple’s voice operated personal assistant had a pretty limited of skills at launch.
Thanks to iOS 6 he can now open apps, send tweets and find nearby services and places.
Above is Siri helpfully finding me a list of films playing nearby.
He was also able to find me some local pizza sellers after I asked him “where can I get a pizza” and provide directions to the BFI and Southbank.
It’s great to see Apple delivering on their past promises to expand Siri, though it’s a shame almost a year has gone by before they took him a little closer to the original promise.
