The team must protect Niko Grecic, a witness in the trial of Serbian war criminal General Tezlia, as the high-octane spy drama continues.
Grecic was Tezlia’s right-hand man but has earned immunity by testifying against him. However, Tezlia still has many loyal comrades who want Grecic dead, including Richard Dempsey, an MI6 traitor who defected years ago to join Tezlia in his genocide against Bosnian Muslims.
MI6 know that Dempsey will be looking for Grecic and they want their traitor killed, so Adam, Zaf and Jo are charged with the job.
But the situation is complicated: Dempsey and Adam were close friends until Dempsey turned traitor and sold Adam out during an operation in Serbia.
When Adam finds Dempsey, he confronts him but Dempsey claims that he has been a double agent all along and that he had to betray Adam to prove his loyalty to the Serbs.
Now Dempsey’s MI6 handler has died and no one else in the agency seems to know anything about his mission.
Elsewhere, Grecic is attacked but Ros is unable to take him to hospital in case his whereabouts become known.
She calls on her ex-boyfriend, a doctor, for help.
Meanwhile, Harry is concerned about Adam’s erratic behaviour but what he doesn’t know is that Adam is now on his own mission: to prove Dempsey’s innocence, even if it means disobeying orders.
But has Adam lost his grip on reality, or is he right to trust his old friend?
Niko Grecic is played by Marcel Lures, Dempsey by Alec Newman, Adam by Rupert Penry-Jones, Zaf by Raza Jaffrey, Jo by Miranda Raison, Ros by Hermione Norris and Harry by Peter Firth.
