Not worth the effort February 26, 2010 Grahame J. Hadden (UK) I have read a lot about Hollywood and was eager to enjoy this. I found the book hard to read as there were a lot of synopses of movies that I feel were a cop out, for if I wanted to find out about the movies I would have purchased something else. There is a lot of so called personal interviews but when I checked up the author on the web, it was stated that she gave contradictory quotes. This leads one to question the writer. Also if she had taken personal interviews from the subject why did it take 16 years from Davis's death to publish the book. Too many question marks and lazy writting for my liking.

This is a great read and I found it hard to put down. It's funny and very insightful, exactly what you expect from Bette Davis.. A must have for any Davis fan.

So looking forward to receiving this book, quite disappointed and have not finished reading it yet, it comes and goes from writers views to Bette Davis. On the whole the writing does not flow, it has not led me to want to find out more or continue to read it. Not a good book in my point of view.
A great read about a great actress January 1, 2009 Scott Leslie (Newcastle-upon-Tyne,England) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
