T-Mobile introduces mobile broadband sharing

Mobile phone giant T-Mobile has made mobile broadband even more attractive with the launch of the new ‘Share Dock’, a device which allows customers to share their broadband with others in the home.

The mains-powered device acts like a fixed line router, allowing any WiFi enabled computer to share the broadband supplied by a single ‘stick’ modem. To ensure users get the best speeds and connectivity the company recommends that no more than three machines share at any one time.

Richard Warmsley, Head of Internet and Entertainment at T-Mobile UK, said “Mobile Broadband has experienced huge growth across the market.  And as its popularity grows, we engage with our customers to continually improve and provide them with exactly the service they want. One of the key insights that came back from users was the desire to share the connection with friends and relatives. The Share Dock makes this a reality in a straight forward and simple way.”

The device is secured via a password to ensure WiFi thieves can’t connect to and disrupt the service.

The Share Dock device is exclusive to T-Mobile in the UK, and comes with a mobile broadband stick on a £20 a month tariff, with a 3GB fair use allowance.
