TalkTalk says it has started rolling out a software update which will add BBC connected red button and Netflix to its YouView-powered set top boxes.
Customers whose boxes were bought direct from a retailer or provided by BT received the update last November.
The update, which also includes a new version of iPlayer, will be released to the ISP’s 1.2m customers between now and the end of January.
TalkTalk says those users who pre-registered their interest in Netflix will be among the first to get the new software.
A spokesperson confirmed to SEENIT that, unlike BT, TalkTalk doesn’t have a deal in place to bill customers for Netflix, meaning users must sign up directly with the streaming service.
Tristia Harrison, Managing Director (Consumer) at TalkTalk, said: “Netflix is a brilliant new addition to TalkTalk TV.
“As Britain’s fastest growing TV service, we are on a mission to provide the best movies and hit TV shows that our customers can dip in and out of, all at a great price. Netflix complements this perfectly.”
