John Torode is returning to UKTV’s Good Food with a new series looking at the “vibrant and varied cuisine” of Malaysia.
The series follows the success of Torode’s Australia series and is being produced in association with MATRADE, the national trade promotion agency of Malaysia.
Torode will be seen cooking with local chefs, meeting celebrity restaurateurs, visiting colourful night markets and exploring the impact of history and culture on the evolution of Malaysian food.
Segments filmed in the UK will also see him “re-imagining” Malaysian cuisine inspired by his journey and creating recipes for viewers to try themselves.
UKTV’s Commercial Partnerships Manager, Kate Norum, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with MATRADE again on this fresh new look at Malaysian cuisine.
“We’re looking forward to collaborating with them, creating some fantastic original content and helping to further amplify their Malaysian Kitchen initiative.”
MATRADE Trade Commissioner, Khairul Nizam Moonier added:“Matrade is proud to be showcasing the very best of Malaysian cuisine with this in-depth exploration by John Torode.
“His passion for our country is infectious and we are excited to see the effect it has on the UK public embracing Malaysian cuisine as one of the fastest rising food trends.”
