Work To Rule Continues in Casualty

January 24, 2008 - Staff@seenituk

Tensions continue to mount in Casualty as Tess (Suzanne Packer) struggles to run a department of work-to-rule nurses, and is surprised when Kelsey (Janine Mello) turns up to do overtime as an agency nurse, as BBC One’s flagship medical drama continues this Saturday.

Ruby, a little girl previously helped by Greg (Kip Gamblin), arrives with her mother, Chloe, and father, Mark, to give chocolates and flowers to the staff that looked after her.

A graffiti artist, meanwhile, lowers himself over the edge of a bridge, but gets his foot tangled in his safety rope and is left hanging. The rope slips and he falls on to the road below, causing a massive crash. Greg arrives at the scene but struggles to assess the situation on his own.

Working his way through the injured, and the fatalities, he discovers the car belonging to Ruby and her parents who were on their way back from delivering presents to the ED staff.

Another victim is diverted away from Holby ED to St James’s Hospital, as Tess reluctantly closes the department because they are too busy.

Greg later feels he was helpless at the crash site and doesn’t want to do the job anymore. Dixie (Jane Hazlegrove) consoles him, but Greg is adamant.

Casualty, BBC One Saturdays.
