Virgin's Project magazine is attracting mixed ratings
Virgin’s new iPad-only magazine Project is leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of many would-be readers according to feedback in the device’s App Store.

The app is being billed as a “revolutionary multimedia magazine built specially for your iPad” offering features on “international culture, entertainment, design, business and travel”.

However many users are declaring themselves less than impressed after experiencing difficulties downloading the magazine despite paying out £1.79 for the launch edition.

A number of users who have downloaded the free reader app and then paid for the magazine have suffered from slow and failed downloads and been faced with enduring a further wait while trying to re-download the mag.

Of the 105 ratings given so far in the UK App Store, 52 users awarded the magazine three stars or less. At the time of writing 41 users had rated the magazine one star, although the same number had awarded it the top five-star rating.

Although readers who have managed to download it have offered praise for the “shockingly good” magazine, frosted would-be readers have been scathing at the failed downloads.

A number of shoppers have used the App Store’s feedback system to request refunds of the £1.79 cost.
