Audience Appreciation Figures and Media Update

April 19, 2006 - Staff@seenituk

Shannon Patrick Sullivan’s A BRIEF HISTORY OF TIME (TRAVEL) reports that preliminary audience appreciation figure for New Earth is 85% making it the most enjoyed show of the day and one of the highest results ever for the show. Update: We’d also like to credit Outpost Gallifrey for the AI figures which were first reported on their forums over the bank holiday weekend.

The Mirror takes time off of predicting Billie Piper’s departure from the show to make much of an ‘exclusive’ discussion with Elisabeth Sladen in which she makes the observation that companions of old were often 2 dimensional.

Although the Mirror seems terribly excited by the comments they are nothing new and simply reflect the same views expressed by many cast and production team members over the year.

The Daily Record speaks to Glasgow actor Derek Riddell about his appearance and (on-screen!) death in this week’s Doctor Who.

For those fans still bemoaning the humour content in last week’s episode the article has a very pertinent line: “Gags are an integral part of the regenerated Doctor Who’s success”.

The paper also carries a short report on the release of the BBC DVD Genesis Of the Daleks.
