Suffering from flu I’ve been passing way my time playing the addictive Waterslide iPhone app, possibly the best piece of mobile marketing I’ve ever seen.
Inspired by the Barclaycard waterslide TV ads, the free game is a fun ride through none levels of slides in which the player has to stay in the slide while also collecting diamonds and hitting speed boosts.
Other than on the games front screen there’s no Barclaycard branding on show so you never feel like you’re wading through a corporate promo and the game is, defying decades of TV and film tie-ins, genuinely enjoyable.
Hats off to Barclaycard’s PR team and their developers at Fishlabs, the only minus is the lack of the TV’s memorable music track.
