The BBC have today robustly denied media reports that a forthcoming episode of the fifth series will be axed.
Various papers reported the prospect of an upcoming episode – in which a Christian fundamentalist assassinates a Muslim on the steps of London’s High Court – being banned.
BBC Entertainment news quotes a spokesman for the corporation as saying:
"e;There is no question of an episode of Spooks being scrapped.
"e;Spooks is known for its ability, even though it is filmed well in advance, to hit on issues that are highly topical and reflect modern life.
"e;It has gained a reputation for tackling difficult and relevant topics with care."e;
