The latest adaption of Stephen King’s classic 1974 horror novel Carrie is set for a UK release on November 29th.
Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a homely outcast high school girl with a religious zealot for a mum (Julianne Moore) has long had telekinetic powers.
When bullied by her peers she exhibits her powers more, and when a cruel trick plays out on prom night she unleashes her telekinetic wrath and destroys her school, her mother, and herself.
The film also stars Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer and Alex Russell and is directed by Kimberly Peirce.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s adaptation is said to be “more faithful” to King’s novel. Aguirre-Sacasa previously adapted the author’s The Stand into comic-book form.
Carrie has been produced by MGM and Sony’s Screen Gems.
