Change of pace as The Fixer returns

The Fixer, ITV’s highest rating new drama of 2008, is about to explode back onto our screens with an action-packed two part story which sees Government hitman John Mercer (Andrew Buchan) taking on notorious criminals the Barber Boys.

As they descend into the murkier underlevels of South London the team’s own future looks uncertain – ambitious M16 operative Matt Symmonds is keen to wrest control of the unit from Lenny (Peter Mullan).

The show’s format has had a few tweaks with Mercer no longer quite the unwilling assassin and audiences can expect more action.

According to Buchan: “It’s incredibly fast-paced with some breathless hand to hand fight sequences that are extremely Bourne-esque in their execution. But while I think it’s important to constantly morph I would stress that it’s not completely transformed; there are still elements of the original that people loved. The aura of The Fixer is still very much intact.”

Peter Fincham, ITV’s Director of Television say the show will be “bigger and better than ever.”
