BARB have published the final ratings (which includes ‘timeshift’ figures) for week ending 25th December 2005.
Tennant’s debut proves a hit with viewers
The figures show that The Christmas Invasion was watched by a total of 9.84 million viewers making it the fifth most watched episode of any BBC One show for the week, beaten only by four episodes of EastEnders. By programme brand Doctor Who was the second most popular on the channel for the week.
Factoring in other channel’s ratings the Christmas special was the week’s third most popular programme brand behind ITV’s Coronation Street and EastEnders.
The final figures show an increase of 440,000 on the unoffical ‘overnights’ previously reported.
