Last night’s episode of Doctor Who which featured the long awaited return of the Daleks drew 7.83 million viewers and an amazing 42.73% of the audience share.
Guaranteed to finally slay jokes about the Dalek’s mobility, Rob Shearman’s script revealed that the Daleks played a key role in the time war mentioned over the past few weeks.
With a strong performance from Christoper Eccleston the story gripped, terrified and delighted fans of all ages and saw the Who debut of former Coronation Street actor
Speaking ahead of transmission Shearman said he’d wanted to “focus more on the creature
inside the machine, to make it a proper character who elicits our sympathy at first but
then displays all its evil and cunning.”
ITV’s Celebrity Wrestling performed poorly for the second week running mustering just over 3 million viewers.
