Stories from Jon Pertwee’s and Tom Baker’s eras in Doctor Who get an airing on BBC Four this month as part of the Science Fiction Britannia season.
Celebrating Britain’s contribution to the science fiction genre the season includes a three-part series of films, The Martians and Us, which traces the history of the genre.
The season includes showings of classic Who stories ‘Spearhead from Space’ and ‘The Ark in Space’ plus ‘A For Andromeda’, ‘Adam Adamant’, Ian M Banks ‘The Crow Road’ and ‘Red Dwarf’.
The season is accompanied by the website bbc.co.uk/mysciencefictionlife, “an ambitious project that will build a linear timeline of all the major creative endeavours in British science fiction, and link them with the audience’s own personal stories and unexpected connections.”
