David Cronenberg and Ralph Fiennes are to be awarded one of Britain’s highest film related awards during this year’s BFI London Film Festival.
The Institute will bestow its highest honour, the BFI Fellowship, on the pair at the 2011 Festival Awards when they take place on October 26th.
The pair will head a list of filmmakers on both sides of the camera to be recognised at the ceremony, which is being supported by MontBlanc.
Cronenberg said receiving the Fellowship was “a monumental, in fact overwhelming, honour”.
Schindler’s List and The Constant Gardener star Fiennes said “I’m extremely honoured and delighted to be given this fellowship by the BFI”
