John Lewis announced as first UK nook stockist

August 28, 2012 - Staff@seenituk

John Lewis has been announced as the first UK retailer to sell Barnes & Noble nook eReader range.

Last week the US eBook giant revealed it would be bringing the nook and nook GlowLight – an e-ink reader with a lit screen – to the UK later this year via a new nook.co.uk website.

The company had promised to reveal retail partners “shortly”.

Today Jamie Iannone, President of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble confirmed prestigious high street retailer John Lewis as the nook’s first stockist.

“John Lewis is where knowledgeable customers turn for trusted advice on the best products to purchase, and they are a perfect partner to help launch nook in the UK,” said Iannone.

“We look forward to bringing more choice and convenience to discerning UK customers with our critically acclaimed line of reading devices and expansive selection of content.”

Ed Connolly, John Lewis’ director of buying for electricals and home technology added: “Always first with the latest technology, John Lewis is thrilled to be chosen as the premier UK launch retailer for the nook. This award-winning line of eReaders adds greater choice to this expanding category.

“We think our customers will love nook’s adaptability thanks to its E Ink display and unique built-in GlowLight, perfect for day or night time reading.”

John Lewis will stock the nook in its 37 high street stores as well as online at johnlewis.com.
