Sony has announced a new range of Vaio branded notebooks, the ultra portable VAIO P-series, offering high-speed mobile broadband with embedded 3G technology.
Users will have the choice of booting the device with Windows Vista or, if they just want access to the Internet and other key functions, the XrossMediaBar user interface now familiar from the PSP and latest BRAVIA TVs.
Sony say the devices will weight less than 640g and will offer an 8″ screen with a resolution of 1600 x 768. A practical ‘resize’ button located below the keyboard automatically and equally distributes multiple windows across the screen.
The range will be available in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Russia from February 2009.
