Fans of Lynda La Plante’s Anna Travis (Above Suspicion if you’re an ITV viewer) series can finally get their hands on Backlash, the latest book in the run from today.
The novel is available in hardback with a RRP of £18.99 and as an eBook for £9.99 (Kindle link & iBooks link and Kobo link).
As always retailer discounting of paper books means the eBook may not be cheaper than the physical version.
But what of Blood Line, the previous book in the series?
That was released in hardback in June 2011 with the same £18.99 cover price and in paperback today for £7.99 (again discounting means you’ll pick this up cheaper.)
Yet the eBook edition remains priced at £9.99 at Amazon, Apple’s iBooks and Kobo.
Defending the prices of eBooks has never been easy for publishers and instances such as this merely make a difficult job all the harder.
Update 15/06/2012: At some point in the past day or so the cost of Blood Line has dropped to £4.99 at all eBook retailers, less than the paperback version. But how many people paid double that in the meantime?
