The BBC has announced the start of production on the eighth series of spy drama Spooks, set to reveal the fate of Harry Pearce (Peter Firth) after his kidnap by soviet agents at the end of the last series.
Simon Crawford Collins, Executive Producer, Kudos Film and Television, said: “Series seven was such a huge success, it managed to really capture the imagination of fans and critics alike, so this series we’re pushing ourselves even harder to stay ahead of the news agenda and keep viewers hooked. We have plenty of twists and turns up our sleeves and can’t wait to see the response from fans.”
The BBC is remaining tight-lipped about about Harry’s fate, but it known that Ros Myers (Hermione Norris) and Lucas North (Richard Armitage) will be returning for the new 8-part series which is due for broadcast on BBC One in Autumn 2009.
