Spooks Prop Buyer Rejects Media Claims

October 5, 2006 - Staff@seenituk

Steve Read, managing director, 1st Place who provide prop products to Spooks has reacted to media reports “that brands were being illicitly being placed in BBC productions.”

In a letter published in last week’s Media Week Mr Read says “Nothing could be further from the truth – I should know, as I was the victim of this particular piece of journalism.”

Explaining how he was contacted by a fictional company to discuss a new vodka drink he says that they “kept trying to steer the conversation towards payment which I had already explained was against the rules.”

Read also notes that whilst the reports were first carried in The Sunday Times, its weekly sister title has also featured in the current series.
