Netbook pioneers Asus are reported to be launching an eBook reader later this year.
The firm, which virtually created the netbook market with its Eee range, is rumoured to be planning a wallet-friendly, low-cost reader in an attempt to replicate their success with the mini-laptops.
According to other reports, MSI is also “evaluating” the eBook reader market.
With their track record for reliable, low-cost devices, the entry of either firm into the nascent eBook reader market could force established brands to look again at their prices.
