Since reporting the sad death of Michael Sheard we were contacted by Ian Knocka Dore, Isle of Wight Radio Presenter, who had the folloiwng to say:
“Michael had a unique air about him rarely found amongst the acting fraternity and you liked him instantly. There was an immediate affinity as if he was your best friend. Very warm, witty, funny and intelligent but lacking the arrogance that can be sometimes attributed to such a successful actor.
Wed only met a number of times and conversed via email for ages yet it felt like Id known him a lifetime. He spoke warmly of his fans and gave so much yet asked so little. Very much one of the boys youd see him drinking in our local Wetherspoons and was always up for a chin wag.
In a recent interview with me I found him very giving, humble and kind. Those qualities are hard to find these days and I for one am proud to of known him.
