What Camille Did Next…

July 11, 2006 - Staff@seenituk

From Sunday, July 16th, Doctor Who’s Camille Coduri can be seen in BBC Three’s new adult themed drama – Sinchronicity – which explores the crucial role chance and coincidence play in our lives.

The high-octane, party-fuelled stories hinge on tangential and peripheral moments that become pivotal in the lives of a group of strangers searching for love in the dating jungle of the city.

As central character Nathan (Paul Chequer) lurches from catastrophe to disaster a whole raft of characters are caught up in his tangled web. Amongst these is Peggy Simmons (Coduri), Nathan’s dirty-talking porn baroness of a boss.

Explaining how she became involved in the show Camille says: “I was first approached by Julie Gardner, executive producer for BBC Wales…I got half-way through the first script and was absolutely hooked. The writing was so slick I knew immediately that I wanted to do it.”

“Peggy seemed like a real challenge to play because she is the complete antithesis of me and so different from my other roles. It was quite invigorating to play her, I especially liked being able to get my own way all of the time as Peggy!”

Describing the character of Peggy Camiile says she’s “consistently hard, driven and unable to take no for an answer, but then I suppose you would have to be, working in such a male dominated industry.”

An adult themed drama, Sinchronicity is a BBC Wales/Shine co-production for BBC THREE. The executive producers are Julian Murphy & Johnny Capps for Shine, and Julie Gardner and Bethan Jones for BBC Wales. Sinchronicity is directed by Brian Grant and Philip John.

Sinchronicity, premieres on BBC Three Sunday, July 16, 10.00pm
