From Executive Producers Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Tariq ‘Black Thought’ Trotter, Alex Gibney and directors Erik Parker and One9, each episode of this new documentary series focuses on a ground-breaking song pivotal to the evolution of American music and culture.

The series stars Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Garret Dillahunt, Maggie Grace, Jenna Elfman, Alexa Nisenson, Austin Amelio, Ruben Blades and Karen David.

The show’s second run moves the action to World War II and centres on an uncanny spectre that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.
