    An eBook read by more than 200,000 users of the Wattpad.com self-publishing site is to go into print after author Abbie-Alex Stobbart, who uses the pen name Redflame, signed a major publishing deal.

  • Amazon confirm international Kindle launch

    Amazon has confirmed that the Kindle eBook reader will be available to buy for international customers via the US Amazon.com website. The 6″ reader will begin shipping on October 19th at a cost of $279 plus import taxes as appropriate.

    The man behind the COOL-ER readers has revealed the firm has sold “tens of thousands” of the stylish readers is just three months and has already made a profit.

  • IREX set to bring 3G eBook reader to UK

    A new 8.1″ eBook reader is heading towards the UK and it looks set to be the first 3G reader to arrive on these shores. The IREX DR800SG will allow users to buy books, newspapers or magazines from a variety of sources.

  • Borders extends eBook reader range

    High street and online book retailer Borders has extended its eBook reader range to include the latest Sony readers as well as devices from BeBook and COOL-ER. The company already sells the Elonex reader through its stores which currently sells for £169.

  • Wattpad service adopts EPUB

    eBook social media service Wattpad has become the latest eBook player to announce support for the EPUB format, following Google Books and Sony in adopting the XML-based standard.
