Vodafone escapes fines after missing 3G coverage obligations

Mobile network Vodafone has escaped punishment for missing its 3G coverage obligations. In November, Ofcom announced that EE, Three and O2 had all met an obligation to cover 90% of UK homes by June 2013 but that Vodafone’s coverage was below target at 88.66%.

O2 announces price increase for mobile customers

Mobile network O2 has announced a 2.7% increase in its mobile tariffs. The increase matches the current Retail Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation and will apply to customers from their March 2014 bill.

BT to connect 400,000 additional premises to fibre broadband network

BT says it is to connect a further 400,000 premises to its super-fast fibre broadband network over the next three years. The firm’s Openreach division, which maintains and operates the network and leases capacity to BT Retail and rivals including Sky and TalkTalk, will spend £50 million on the roll-out.
