BT releases new apps for Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV and Google Chromecast

The apps allow customers to access BT’s line-up of subscription channels, access catch-up content and buy and rent TV boxsets and movies on devices they already own, avoiding the need to buy an extra set top box from TV.

At launch customers will need to have a separate Prime subscription to watch the service but BT says it hopes to offer the option to add the cost to the customer’s BT bill at a later date, mirroring the arrangements it has with Netflix.
